Stepping Back

Hey folks, I figured I would check in and let you know that I’m going to be pulling back from this whole blogging thing for a bit?

Why? What’s wrong with watching and talking about bad movies? Well, nothing. Unfortunately though, this was becoming a chore for me, an additional stress factor in a life that is currently already pretty stressful. In the last six months, I posted wrote, rewrote, and edited 300+ reviews, with the vast majority over 500 words and some closing in on 1000. I enjoyed it, but it was a pace I could not keep up due to the ongoing demands of life.

By that, I mean my day job, my comedy work, and my personal life. I’m getting married in a few months, and if you’ve ever had to plan a wedding, it’s about as much fun as having your teeth knocked in, only dragged out over the course of months. I will never look at florists the same way. They’re not bad people, but whoa are they detail-oriented. As for work, my company is in the midst of a massive merger, and everyone has been on edge for several months. The environment ranges from confused to toxic in places, and I’m trying to figure out how I can position myself grow and advance once the turmoil settles.

My outlets for this are my comedy work, my movies, and my video games. That’s where the trouble came in; as much as I enjoyed writing about these movies, adhering to a daily schedule with so much else in my life was turning a way to relax and have a laugh into a problem. Hence, I am stepping away for a bit. I’m not sure how long, and unless I figure out a way to monetize and make a living off of this, I doubt I’ll be adhering to such a rigorous schedule in the future.

Hey, it was fun while it lasted. I hope you found something new to watch and enjoy, or at least enjoy laughing at. My sole goal was always to show new films to people, so if I have done that for just one person, I have succeeded.
